Party Paper lanterns wall to celebrate Valentine’s day
Paper lanterns wall for Valentine's decor

February is LOVE month (and boy we need it!). Let’s celebrate with our family and friends and throw many many parties, brunches, and other get-togethers in the name of LOVE.

We’ve created a cute decoration for a Valentine’s party: a pretty paper lanterns wall in shades of pink and red.
The good news is, it’s so easy to design (more details about the how-to below). It also looks amazing over a dessert table for a birthday party or bridal/baby shower.

Rose gold LOVE balloon, heart-shapped waffles and candies… a super sweet set up for a super sweet party!

To create the paper lanterns “wall”

You will need:

– 1 piece of white cardboard size 80cm x 110cm (30”x 43”) – you can of course go for a smaller piece and adjust the number of lanterns.

– scissors and tape (washi tape will be also fine if you create your décor just a couple of hours ahead – for a long lasting piece, it’s better to use regular tape)

– string to hang the paper lanterns and accordion paper lanterns (for pompoms and honeycomb balls you can use their included string)

– 3 honeycomb balls 12cm (5’’)
– 3 honeycomb balls 20cm (8’’)
– 12 paper pompoms 25cm (10’’)
8 accordion paper lanterns 20cm (8’’)
6 paper lanterns 15cm (6’’)

You can shop the product selection for the paper lanterns wall here!

Start by taping each lantern and pom all around the frame, one after the other, leaving very little space between them to hide as much white as possible. Then you can fill in the inside of the frame making sure lanterns and pompoms are really tightly arranged so that they cover the whole space. And voilà!

The wedding of Marie and Thibaud is bringing us just the right amount of sun and heat. Here are some pictures of a superb wedding under Ibiza’s blue sky.
The bride and groom fell in love with the Spanish Island during a vacation: permanent sun, untouched nature, wild coves remotely located from the most known and vibrant beaches. The location quickly became obvious for their happy day, for a 3 day escapade with their family and friends.

We’re dying over this colorful cloud of paper lanterns in little Louise’s nursery, designed by interior decorator Estelle Williot.

To gather your paper decorations in a very tight cluster, you can use several small hooks and fine white thread or fishing line. You can start by hanging big items at various heights then the smaller lanterns. Fill in the gaps with pompoms and honeycomb balls.

Deco Tips A chandelier for your princess nursery
Pastel palette nursery decor

Huge crush for this paper lanterns chandelier designed by Estelle Williot.

Here are some tips if you want to recreate the same in your home:

  • Hang first the biggest paper lantern 35cm or 50cm. You can use an electric frame with bulb to hang it (can be found at IKEA or DIY stores). Make sure to place the bulb in the very center of the lantern for safety reasons.
  • Use the mall hook in “c” shape  at the top of the lantern’s metallic structure to secure the electric cord. Only the central lantern can be lit. Do not hang all the other paper lanterns on the electric frame. It is better to use small hooks screwed directly in the ceiling (or strong tape for the small items).
  • Use fishing line. It is transparent and you can easily adjust the string.

Here are the lanterns used for this chandelier, that you can find in our boutique:

  • 1 accordion lantern- 30cm – vintage rose
